In Barcelona, a delegation from Sarawak joins forces with Catalonian counterparts, marking a significant step in fostering a collaborative relationship. This convergence is a testament to the shared commitment to smart city development and sustainable urban growth, aligning with global sustainability goals. The initiative, catalyzed by Jordi Pol Ramon, underscores the importance of international partnerships in driving innovation across continents.
Today in #Barcelona, I was honored to accept an invitation from the people of #Catalonia to join a delegation from the State of #Sarawak, a region with a similar distinctive #identity and robust #autonomy within #Malaysia 🇲🇾.
As a 🇪🇺 expert on #smartcity and sustainable urban development, aligned with #SDG11 🌍, I had the opportunity to share my vision and insights with senior officials and specialists from both regions. This included engaging with regional ministries and agencies such as the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation.
I extend my sincere gratitude to Jordi Pol Ramon for this unique and valuable invitation. His roles as CEO at EUROCHAM Malaysia 🇪🇺, chairman of Malaysian Spanish Chamber of Commerce & Industry – La Cámara 🇪🇸, and CEO at BCN Smart Technologies Sdn Bhd, have been instrumental in fostering this collaboration.
My commitment with #Catalonia is not new. While working at Toyota Motor Corporation’s headquarters 🇯🇵, I previously engaged with ACCIÓ for innovation collaboration in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (#ITS).
Being rooted in the region of #Brittany 🇫🇷 and exploring business opportunities in #Malaysia 🇲🇾 and #ASEAN 🌏, today I marked another milestone in promoting global innovation. Through such dynamic regions, we aim to pave the way for a smart and sustainable future.
