Honored to be invited to ERIA’s inception meeting in Jakarta 🇮🇩 (Jan 16, 2025) to discuss digital twins for urban sustainability in ASEAN. Alongside global experts, I contributed to the “Data Governance & Public Policy” session, sharing insights on agile governance, interoperability, and data strategies for smart cities. Excited to continue shaping this study, culminating in a final book with key policy recommendations.

A new 3-month journey across Asia provided invaluable insights into smart and sustainable cities. This experience has led to significant professional growth and a deeper understanding of urban innovation. Now, reflecting on the next steps in consulting.

The GreenCity Investment Forum 2024 (GCIF2024) united experts and investors to transform intermediary cities into eco-friendly, climate-resilient hubs. Hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), the forum emphasized the GreenCity Action Plans (GCAPs), promoting bottom-up projects and capacity building.

Attending the Clean Cities and Urban Development Forum 2024 (CCUDF2024) provided valuable insights into critical urban sustainability challenges, particularly waste management. The two-day event featured leading experts and industry pioneers discussing a range of topics from smart technologies for efficient waste management to circular economy and social innovations.

Attending the SMART NATION EXPO 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) offered invaluable insights into the latest advancements in smart technologies and digital strategies in the region. Focused on “Smart Innovations for Digital Transformation,” this landmark event featured a diverse array of exhibitors.
