Selected for the Ocean Hackathon® International Jury: A Commitment to Marine Innovation

Appointed as an international jury for the UN Ocean Decade-endorsed Ocean Hackathon®, this role leverages expertise in HSE, planning, and digital strategy. Originating from Brittany, the cradle of the Hackathon, this event stands as a pivotal forum for pioneering solutions fostering ocean well-being and sustainability. It represents a united effort to address marine issues, resonating with the Sustainable Development Goals to envision a thriving maritime future.

I’m thrilled to announce that I have been selected as one of the international #jury members of Ocean #Hackathon®, a world-class event endorsed by the United NationsUN Ocean Decade 🌍.

I’m also honored to have been proposed by Dr Wee Cheah, senior lecturer at University of Malaya’s Institute of ocean & earth sciences, who is part of the committee that leads the local edition in #KualaLumpur 🇲🇾, the only Asian city to host this global event. Indeed, my academic background in #HSE, #planning, #digital and #business (#MBA), as well as my #openinnovation challenge experiences with EIT Digital 🇪🇺 and Agorize are great assets for this role.

As a Breton, I also take pride in the fact that my region #Brittany (#Bretagne 🇫🇷) initiated this Ocean #Hackathon® (2016), which is now recognised worldwide. The leader #Brest city is a marine and maritime cluster, including planning expertise with the Institut de Géoarchitecture – Brest (graduated).

I’m looking forward to seeing the amazing ideas and innovations that will emerge from this event. Let’s make a positive impact on our oceans together ! 🌊 🤗

The UN Ocean Decade is a global initiative that aims to improve the ocean’s health and sustainability through science and innovation. It runs from 2021 to 2030 and is coordinated byUNESCO’s UNESCO Ocean, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (#IOC). The UN Ocean Decade has seven societal outcomes that it wants to achieve by 2030, such as a clean, healthy, predicted, safe, productive, transparent, and inspiring ocean. The UN Ocean Decade invites the global ocean community to participate and become partners in this effort. The UN Ocean Decade also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs), a set of 17 global interconnected goals that cover various aspects of human well-being and environmental protection, such as health, education, equality, climate change, biodiversity, and justice. The ocean is essential for many of the #SDGs, these latter provide a framework for the UN Ocean Decade’s actions and impacts.
