Focused on “Smart Innovations for Digital Transformation,” this landmark event featured a diverse array of exhibitors.
Today, I visited the SMART NATION EXPO 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). This landmark event, focused on Smart Innovations for Digital Transformation, offered invaluable insights into the latest advancements in #smart technologies, and #digital strategies in the region.
The expo, colocating EVM ASIA 🚗⚡️, showcased a diverse array of exhibitors, featuring numerous Chinese booths 🇨🇳 and national pavilions from #Singapore 🇸🇬 and #SouthKorea 🇰🇷. A standout was the substantial Russian pavilion 🇷🇺, which presented #Moscow’s smart & sustainable city initiatives alongside innovative companies.
I had the pleasure of attending an insightful presentation by my friend, colleague and Malaysian #smartcity expert, TPr Ts. Md Farabi Yussoff Md Yussoff, at the TM One booth. His discussion on digital urban twins highlighted the growing integration of telecommunications, #GIS, and #IoT in urban planning. This concept has gained significant traction recently, involving companies from various sectors and demonstrating a wide range of applications.
The MyDIGITAL Corporation pavilion 🇲🇾 provided an overview of #Malaysia’s comprehensive digital strategy, with a particular emphasis on the rapidly evolving #DigitalCity domain. The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC)’s digital city action line, led by Ir. Dr. Karl Ng, is set to launch a new program of initiatives in the coming year. Moreover, an agreement with Fira Barcelona 🇪🇸 is imminent. This collaboration will bring a #Malaysian edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress to #KualaLumpur end of 2025, further cementing #Malaysia’s position in the global #smartcity arena in #SoutheastAsia 🌏.
The expo wasn’t just a technological showcase; it was a cultural experience as well, featuring a surprising and delightful welcome by Mexican dancers 💃🇲🇽. As a consultant, this event provided me with an invaluable platform for high-level expertise exchanges in digital transformation, perfectly aligning with my areas of specialisation.
