Navigating the SDG Odyssey: Malaysia’s Leap into Sustainable Investment

Malaysia’s SDGs Investment Map launch signals a transformative shift. Engaging with global leaders, including Fabienne Michaux and Manon Bernier, I witnessed the convergence of innovation and investment in cities. Yet, governance and capacity-building remain critical. Let’s empower society and authorities, fostering a liveable planet for all.

In #Malaysia 🇲🇾, Tengku Zafrul Aziz, Minister of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) announced today the launch of the Malaysia #SDGs Investment Map. 👏🏻

I attended this great event where I had the chance 🍀 to exchange with the panelists Fabienne Michaux, Director at UNDP SDG Impact and Manon Bernier, Deputy resident representative at UNDP in #Malaysia, Singapore & Brunéi Darussalam. Furthermore, I was glad to meet again Raymond Siva, VP of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), an active #DX agency under the Ministry of communications and digital.

There is now a clear #shift towards #sustainability (#ESG / #SDG) through a #topdown approach with a new political framework and innovative instruments. Moreover and if you read « in the air », #cities are certainly at the crossroads of the 5 investment #priorities, welcoming « place-based », innovative and scaling solutions.

Nevertheless, #implementation actually needs to tackle #governance and #capacity building challenges (public / private). Advocating for #SDGs, #facilitating collaboration and #educating teams are now crucial for effectively #empowering civil society (companies and people) but also local authorities.

Let’s work ALL together towards a successful positive #impact for the community and a #liveable planet 🌏 !
