New visionary policies and strategic insights are necessary to tackle the diversity of city-region challenges and promote sustainability
Expo City Dubai — the former #Expo2020 site — is now emerging as a fully operational, climate-resilient urban ecosystem. Positioned at the intersection of Dubai’s emirate strategy and the UAE’s national vision, it embodies a model of post-oil economic diversification and integrated urban innovation.
After exploring urban dynamics in Africa, I am now preparing for a targeted engagement in the Middle East — specifically Dubai — from June 17 to July 12, 2025.
Honored to be invited to ERIA’s inception meeting in Jakarta 🇮🇩 (Jan 16, 2025) to discuss digital twins for urban sustainability in ASEAN. Alongside global experts, I contributed to the “Data Governance & Public Policy” session, sharing insights on agile governance, interoperability, and data strategies for smart cities. Excited to continue shaping this study, culminating in a final book with key policy recommendations.
