The Selangor Summit was a rewarding experience. As a key player in Malaysia’s economy, Selangor showcased its pivotal role. I had insightful discussions on smart city solutions with public and industry leaders, particularly on smart mobility.
Attending the Selangor Summit (#SIBS2024) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, which hosted the 9th Selangor #SmartCity & Digital Economy Convention (#SDEC2024), was a rewarding experience.
As the most developed and wealthiest state in #Malaysia 🇲🇾, #Selangor plays a vital role in the national economy. Its close economic and infrastructural ties with #KualaLumpur, even after KL became a federal territory in 1974, highlight their combined contributions to #Malaysia‘s growth story.
The event explored the future of #smartcities, with various booths from Selangor State Government and its cities showcasing innovative visions and action plans. It provided an excellent platform to exchange expertise on the key challenges to smart and sustainable policies. I had insightful discussions with Yussof Nor Hassan at Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) and experts from #PetalingJaya city’s smart city program.
A highlight was my conversation with Chun H Goh, founder of #Kumpool, an innovative ride-pooling service offering first and last-mile solutions. #Kumpool‘s ride pooling approach, enhancing connectivity within 5km of public transportation stations, reminded me of my time at Toyota Motor Corporation 🇯🇵, where I worked on smart mobility solutions across #Europe 🇪🇺.
