Speaking at the Europe\u2013Japan Roundtable on Digital Innovation and Sustainable Tourism at Expo 2025 Osaka\u2019s Italy Pavilion was both an honour and a milestone. My journey between Europe and Asia continues through initiatives that connect innovation, governance, and sustainability\u2014advancing a shared vision where digital transformation serves both people and the planet.

Speaking yesterday at the #Europe<\/a> \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa \u2013 #Japan<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 Roundtable on Digital Innovation and Sustainable #Tourism<\/a> at the Italy Expo 2025 Osaka<\/a>\u2019s \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf9Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 was more than an honor \u2013 it was a moment of recognition.

My career has unfolded at the crossroads of #Europe<\/a> \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa and #Asia<\/a> \ud83c\udf0f. In #Europe<\/a> \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa, I had the privilege to work at a high level on open #innovation<\/a>, building bridges between #academia<\/a>, #industry<\/a>, and #public<\/a> authorities through multi-level #governance<\/a>.

But it is above all in #Japan<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 that my path took a decisive turn. This unique country welcomed me for over a decade, entrusted me with major responsibilities, and gave me the opportunity \ud83c\udf40 to shape projects that defined my international trajectory.

Today, I am back in #Asia<\/a> \ud83c\udf0f, bringing my expertise to ERIA: Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia<\/a> \u2013 an organisation backed by #Japan<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 \u2013 to drive digital, sustainable, and integrated innovation and policy initiatives across the region \ud83c\udf0f.

I believe we cannot leave tomorrow to chance. #Europe<\/a> \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa and #Japan<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 must shape it together: aligning scalable innovation ecosystems with integrated urban development, ensuring that digital transformation serves both people \ud83e\uddd1\u200d\ud83e\uddd1\u200d\ud83e\uddd2\u200d\ud83e\uddd2 and the planet \ud83c\udf0d.
