While visiting Bandung for a colleague\u2019s wedding, I reflected on the 70th anniversary of the 1955 Asian-African Conference\u2014the moment when newly independent nations chose solidarity and moral leadership over division. Seventy years later, Bandung still challenges us to revive that humanist spirit in an era of fractured geopolitics.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visited #Bandung<\/a> \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\udde9 yesterday to attend the wedding of an hashtag#ERIA<\/a> colleague. The city holds a profound legacy: in 1955, #Bandung<\/a> became the stage for the Asian-African Conference \ud83c\udf0d\ud83c\udf0f, the first international #multiracial<\/a> meeting bringing together leaders representing more than half of the world\u2019s population.

This historic gathering, held in the shadow of #colonialism<\/a>, #apartheid<\/a>, and #ColdWar<\/a> tensions, marked a turning point where nations chose #solidarity<\/a>, #moral<\/a> force, and the pursuit of #peace<\/a> over division. #Indonesia<\/a> \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\udde9, still in its first decade of #independence<\/a>, stood at the center of this new chapter in global history.

#Bandung<\/a> is more than a city. It is a reminder that international #cooperation<\/a> and shared #humanity<\/a> can shape the course of world affairs.

In today\u2019s new geopolitical order\u2014marked by fractured #multilateralism<\/a>, #transactional<\/a> politics, and shifting #power<\/a> balances\u2014does the #humanist<\/a> spirit of #Bandung<\/a> still matter?
