Selected as a speaker at Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur 2025, this intervention reflects growing recognition in Southeast Asia \ud83c\udf0f. It explores how public\u2013private partnerships (#PPP) can drive integrated city platforms, resilient infrastructure, and digital solutions, linking people-centric federated urban platforms with a systemic vision of urban sustainability.

\u2728 Proud to be officially featured as a selected speaker in the Show Preview of Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur<\/a> \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddfe 2025 \u2014 the first-ever Southeast Asian \ud83c\udf0f edition of this global event!

My journey with the Smart City Expo World Congress<\/a> began in #Barcelona<\/a> in 2018, when I was selected to speak for EIT Digital<\/a>‘s Digital Cities Action Line \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa, presenting a strategic digital urban platform demonstrator built entirely on open standards. That moment strongly anchored my work in #Europe<\/a>\u2019s innovation ecosystem.

In early 2024, I returned to #Barcelona<\/a> with a new perspective, invited by the people of #Catalonia<\/a> to welcome a Malaysian delegation \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddfe from the State of Sarawak. This encounter reflected the growing connections between Europe \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa and Southeast Asia \ud83c\udf0f and positioned me as a bridge between both regions \u2014 helping connect experiences, ideas, and opportunities across continents.

In Kuala Lumpur this September, I will build on this trajectory to share how public\u2013private partnerships (#PPP<\/a>) are driving integrated city platforms, resilient infrastructure, and digital solutions. I will bring perspectives from both #Europe<\/a> \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa and #SoutheastAsia<\/a> \ud83c\udf0f, exploring how trust, co-innovation, and collaboration can shape urban environments that deliver public value while attracting strategic investment.

This is also the focus of my recent ASEAN-level study with ERIA: Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia<\/a> \ud83c\udf0f, where I thoroughly examine the connection between people-centric federated urban platforms and the systemic vision of urban sustainability. I first advocated for this mission-oriented strategy in Kuala Lumpur at the Malaysian Institute of Planners<\/a>‘ National Planning Congress #NPC2023<\/a>, and I\u2019m excited to now expand the discussion on an international stage.
