Attending the SMART NATION EXPO 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) offered invaluable insights into the latest advancements in smart technologies and digital strategies in the region. Focused on “Smart Innovations for Digital Transformation,” this landmark event featured a diverse array of exhibitors.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, I visited the <\/a>SMART NATION EXPO<\/a> 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC)<\/a>. This landmark event, focused on Smart Innovations for Digital Transformation, offered invaluable insights into the latest advancements in #smart<\/a> technologies, and #digital<\/a> strategies in the region.

The expo, colocating EVM ASIA<\/a> \ud83d\ude97\u26a1\ufe0f, showcased a diverse array of exhibitors, featuring numerous Chinese booths \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\uddf3 and national pavilions from #Singapore<\/a> \ud83c\uddf8\ud83c\uddec and #SouthKorea<\/a> \ud83c\uddf0\ud83c\uddf7. A standout was the substantial Russian pavilion \ud83c\uddf7\ud83c\uddfa, which presented #Moscow<\/a>\u2019s smart & sustainable city initiatives alongside innovative companies.

I had the pleasure of attending an insightful presentation by my friend, colleague and Malaysian #smartcity<\/a> expert, <\/a>TPr Ts. Md Farabi Yussoff Md Yussoff<\/a>, at the TM One<\/a> booth. His discussion on digital urban twins highlighted the growing integration of telecommunications, #GIS<\/a>, and #IoT<\/a> in urban planning. This concept has gained significant traction recently, involving companies from various sectors and demonstrating a wide range of applications.

The MyDIGITAL Corporation<\/a> pavilion \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddfe provided an overview of #Malaysia<\/a>\u2019s comprehensive digital strategy, with a particular emphasis on the rapidly evolving #DigitalCity<\/a> domain. The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC)<\/a>\u2019s digital city action line, led by <\/a>Ir. Dr. Karl Ng<\/a>, is set to launch a new program of initiatives in the coming year. Moreover, an agreement with Fira Barcelona<\/a> \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddf8 is imminent. This collaboration will bring a #Malaysian<\/a> edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress<\/a> to #KualaLumpur<\/a> end of 2025, further cementing #Malaysia<\/a>\u2019s position in the global #smartcity<\/a> arena in #SoutheastAsia<\/a> \ud83c\udf0f.

The expo wasn\u2019t just a technological showcase; it was a cultural experience as well, featuring a surprising and delightful welcome by Mexican dancers \ud83d\udc83\ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddfd.
