At the 13th Asia Smart City Conference (ASCC), organized by the City of Yokohama and the Asia Smart City Alliance (ASCA), #Yokohama is committed to halving #GHG emissions by 2030 and achieving #netzero by 2050. Highlighted by their first World Expo, #GreenxExpo2027, the city showcased its sustainable and economic ambitions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in #Japan<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 for The 13th Asia Smart City Conference\uff08ASCC\uff09\uff0f\u7b2c13\u56de\u30a2\u30b8\u30a2\u30fb\u30b9\u30de\u30fc\u30c8\u30b7\u30c6\u30a3\u4f1a\u8b70<\/a> at PACIFICO Yokohama<\/a>, organised by the City of Yokohama, Asia Smart City Alliance (ASCA)<\/a>.

#Yokohama<\/a> is committed to halving #GHG<\/a> emissions by 2030 and achieving #netzero<\/a> by 2050. Highlighted by their first World Expo, #GreenxExpo2027<\/a>, the city showcased its sustainable and economic ambitions.

Despite a smaller turnout this year, the focus included an African \ud83c\udf0d delegation, emphasising a global perspective. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)<\/a>, headquartered in #Yokohama<\/a>, played a key role, spotlighting several urban projects in #Asia<\/a> \ud83c\udf0f.

A standout session on #EVs<\/a> sparked my interest, even without Nissan Motor Corporation<\/a>\u2019s presence. I learned about The Drivery<\/a> \ud83c\udde9\ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa, an innovative #smartmobility<\/a> network expanding globally, with a new Japanese branch fostered by the consultant <\/a>Andy Kondo<\/a>.

Networking was limited but fruitful, with meaningful exchanges with the \ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7 speaker <\/a>Tadashi Matsumoto<\/a> of OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions & Cities<\/a> (Paris), <\/a>Kenji Goda<\/a> at GO Inc.<\/a>, a new #emobility<\/a> startup in #Japan<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5, and representatives from #Indonesia<\/a> \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\udde9, including #Makassar<\/a> and #Borneo<\/a>, as well as from #Malaysia<\/a>, #KualaLumpur<\/a> \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddfe.

A great chance to reconnect with #Japan<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5\u2019s unique culture – minimalist, formal and technical – where I worked for a decade.
