IGEM\u00a02024,\u00a0in\u00a0collaboration\u00a0with\u00a0Clean\u00a0Energy\u00a0Transition\u00a0Asia and MobilityX, showcased advancements in renewable energy solutions. Solarvest led\u00a0the clean energy market\u00a0 in\u00a0 Malaysia with its new e-mobility unit,\u00a0Powerbee. The event featured a\u00a0diverse international presence, with\u00a0strong\u00a0contributions from Chinese companies. These innovations emphasised\u00a0 the crucial role of sustainable technologies in shaping a greener future.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\u00a0week,\u00a0I\u00a0visited\u00a0the\u00a0International\u00a0Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference #Malaysia<\/a> (IGEM<\/a> 2024), which\u00a0has\u00a0strategically\u00a0partnered\u00a0with\u00a0the federal agency Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC)<\/a>, and recognised as #SoutheastAsia<\/a>\u2019s premier trade event for green technologies and eco solutions. Through cooperation with CETA – Clean Energy Transition Asia<\/a>, the focus has shifted strongly towards renewable energy solutions\u00a0for\u00a0industry\u00a0and\u00a0cities.\u00a0Co located with #CETA<\/a>, MobilityX Asia<\/a> particularly deals with transportation decarbonisation, focusing on electrification including hybridisation, with the presence of the sponsor Toyota Malaysia<\/a>.

While I didn’t see any French\u00a0booths\u00a0\ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7, there was a\u00a0strong presence from #Sweden<\/a> \ud83c\uddf8\ud83c\uddea, some from #Finland<\/a> \ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddee and #Austria<\/a> \ud83c\udde6\ud83c\uddf9, and #Canada<\/a> \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6 representing well North America. Surprisingly, the Korean \ud83c\uddf0\ud83c\uddf7 and Japanese \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 industries were much less represented, whereas Chinese \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\uddf3 companies were dominant across the exhibition.

My favorites? I’ve identified Solarvest<\/a> \u2600 as the most promising business. This local company leads the clean energy market in #Malaysia<\/a> \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddfe and is rapidly expanding through the Asia Pacific \ud83c\udf0f. Moreover, their new business unit, #Powerbee<\/a>, is now dedicated to #emobility<\/a>, aiming at deploying charging stations \u2014a significant challenge due to subsidised\u00a0oil in the country.

I’m\u00a0grateful\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0people\u00a0I\u00a0met for their time and kindness,\u00a0particularly <\/a>Jye Sze Lee<\/a> and <\/a>JingYi C<\/a> from Solarvest<\/a>, <\/a>Shafinaz Jamaludin<\/a> from the Malaysian Rubber Council<\/a> who nicely promotes green tyres \ud83d\ude46\u200d\u2642\ufe0f, and <\/a>Yutaka Yamada<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 from Sumitomo Corporation<\/a>. It was also so great to chat again with <\/a>Amalia Shariff<\/a> and her direct boss from Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC)<\/a>, which has just launched an\u00a0in-depth survey on transportation modal shifts in #Malaysia<\/a> (see picture).

In conclusion, it was an unexpected journey into sustainable technologies and the future of our society. Now, it\u2019s time to jump onboard!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
