My global consultancy is now strategically aligned with the emerging framework of sustainable urban development (SUD), focusing on integrated, place-based public policies, governance, and green digital solutions. After a decade in Asia, I\u2019m targeting the Global South, particularly Southeast Asia, with Malaysia as the operational hub. This shift underscores the need for cooperation in capacity building, where Europe and the UK can share adaptable knowledge and best practices. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By reading the \ud83c\udf0d #news<\/a> (below\ud83d\udc47), I feel that my #intuition<\/a> \ud83d\udca1 was right to position my #global<\/a> activities in the new framework of #sustainable<\/a> urban development (#SUD<\/a>) with a strong focus on #integrated<\/a> and #place<\/a>-based public policies (my urban #planning<\/a> background), #governance<\/a> and #devolution<\/a> approaches (my political sciences background), and the necessary #green<\/a> and #digital<\/a> solutions (my #DX<\/a> background).

After 10-year expatriation in #Asia<\/a>, I decided to target the #globalsouth<\/a>, particularly South-East #Asia<\/a>, with a first and very operational step in #Malaysia<\/a> \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddfe. Indeed, #emergent<\/a> countries need cooperation, not only in terms of funding but also #capacity<\/a> building. #Europe<\/a> (+ #UK<\/a> \ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7) \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa can share #knowledge<\/a>, #expertise<\/a> and #bestpractices<\/a> that could be locally adapted …

As a highly-skilled and experienced freelancer #consultant<\/a>, I today consider myself as a #global<\/a> boundary spanning impact #facilitator<\/a> who works between different worlds : Europe\/Asia, public\/private or social\/engineering. I think these new global #goals<\/a> clearly need a new #governance<\/a>, new #leaders<\/a> but also new professionals that can #facilitate<\/a> collaboration in complex contexts. In #Takamatsu<\/a> \ud83c\uddef\ud83c\uddf5 (July 9th), The #G7<\/a> promoted its #SUD<\/a> principles that outline commitments for more cooperation, including with emergent countries and between cities, along with more engagement with and through local authorities, by also empowering civil society.

\u00ab\u00a0We recognise that digitalisation can contribute to economic, environmental and social development and management of cities. It can also have a positive impact on mitigating climate change and promoting inclusion. We recognise that “smart city approaches” can contribute to “human-centred urban development” and provide equitable solutions for the diversity of people’s needs and lifestyles. \u00bb

In hashtag#NewYork<\/a> \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (July 10-19), the High-level Political Forum 2023 (https:\/\/hlpf.un.org\/2023<\/a>) on sustainable development will review the hashtag#SDG11<\/a> on “sustainable cities and communities” among other hashtag#SDGs<\/a>. It is a milestone event leading up to the hashtag#SDGs<\/a> summit in September.
